Emily Beckler is a Ph.D. student at Boston College whose research interests center on the intersection of twentieth-century literature and contemporary theory. Her work involves questioning and disentangling subjective marginalization, such as in a recent paper on Afropessimism and J.M.W. Turner’s Slave Ship, which she presented at the Psychoanalytic Practices Seminar at the Harvard Mahindra Humanities Center. She has also enjoyed teaching the First Year Writing Seminar at Boston College.
