Shashwat Agrawal

I am an empirical researcher in corporate finance. My primary research areas are financial intermediation, political economy, and corporate governance.

I am currently a PhD candidate in Finance at Boston College. I earned my Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology.

Professionally, I spent over three and a half years in the Risk Management division at American Express, where I developed analytical frameworks to assess credit risk and enhance regulatory compliance. Additionally, I have over a year of consulting experience advising American Express on data-driven financial strategies. 

I am a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) and have successfully cleared all three levels of the CFA Program.
