Northeast SICB Regional Meeting
November 2, 2019
Chestnut Hill, MA
Please check here for updates and information about the 2019 Northeast Regional SICB meeting!
The 2019 Northeast Regional Meeting of SICB will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at Boston College. This year's meeting will be cohosted by Chris Kenaley's and Sarah McMenamin's labs. We hope to provide an inviting and comfortable atmosphere in which students of many ranks, postdocs, and faculty can discuss their current research projects. Talks will be limited to 5 minutes including time for one or two questions.
The regional meeting will be held in Higgins Hall, room 300. Parking will be available for $12 in the Commonwealth Ave parking garage, a short walk away from Higgins Hall. More information, including directions, lodging, and parking details can be found under the TRAVEL page.
This year, our plenary speaker will be Dr. Eric Tytell of Tufts University.
The registration deadline is Wednesday, October 30th. Because this is a locally-organized meeting, it's important for planning to get a rough gauge of interest, so please, once registration links are active, register as soon as possible.
Registration fees follow this schedule:
- Faculty/Sr. Professional: $50
- Postdoc: $40
- Graduate Student/Postbacc: $25
- Undergraduate Student: $0 (still requires registration)
We would like to thank the generosity of the Biology Department at Boston College, as well as the SICB Divisions of Comparative Biomechanics and Vertebrate Morphology. Thanks to their generosity, we are able to require only modest registration fees, especially for students.
Talks will be 5 minutes, including setup and time for 1 or 2 questions. Speakers are required to give their talks on their own laptop computers.
Please submit your talk information by Wednesday, October 23, 2019 to be included in the program. On our TITLE SUBMISSION page, you will be able to supply a title, author information, and 3-5 keywords describing your talk.
Meeting Code of Conduct
This regional meeting will be governed by the SICB Code of Conduct
The media policy for this meeting is “Opt Out” — photographs and social media are allowed, unless the speaker opts out by placing a no photographs or/and no tweets logo on every slide that should not be photographed or tweeted.
After the meeting
After the talks end, we'll have a short reception. We hope that you'll also consider joining Chris, Sarah, and members of their labs for dinner and socializing after the reception at a local spot. Details TBA.
We look forward to seeing you in Chestnut Hill!
