Alvis Lo’s research examines banking, debt contracting, and financial reporting, with additional interests in financial misstatements, managerial short-termism, ESG-related issues, and information intermediaries. His work has been published in leading academic journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting Research, Management Science, Review of Accounting Studies, and The Accounting Review, and has been featured in media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and CFO Magazine. Alvis currently serves on the editorial boards of Contemporary Accounting Research and The Accounting Review and has received Outstanding Reviewer Awards. He has taught undergraduate, MBA, and PhD courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, and accounting data analytics, and has been recognized as a Teaching Star at the Carroll School.
