Welcome to the new home for all things K-4 STEAM in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools!
In the 2021-2022 school year, the STEAM program will officially become a "specials" class for students in grades K-4 at Highland, Chippewa, and Hilton Elementary schools! This means that EVERY student will receive at least one 45 minute STEAM class per week for 12 weeks of the school year.
Highland Drive: August through Nov. 11
Hilton: Nov. 12 through March
Chippewa: March through June
We will work on skills like working in teams, communicating ideas, thinking critically, collaborating, working creatively, and innovating. We will focus on participating in and learning the Design Process as well.
In the BBH Elementary Schools this year, we will strive to make an EMPATHY-BASED STEAM program. In grades K-2, we will focus on empathy towards one another. How can we welcome and use the ideas of each group member? In grades 3-4, we will focus on empathy by finding solutions to school, local, and global "problems."
