Senior Professional Educator License (Tier 3)
Educators with senior professional teaching licenses who have met requirements for Consistently High Performing Teacher (4 out of 5 years of having accomplished status) may not need to complete additional coursework or equivalent continuing education credits to renew their educator licenses for the next renewal cycle. (Check the Verification Form for eligibility.)

To be eligible for the Master Teacher designation, educators must at least
Hold a valid professional teaching license or certificate
Have taught a minimum of seven years (currently eighth year of teaching)
Work a minimum of 120 days during the current school year
Work under a teaching contract/employed as a teacher.

The Recommendation Form is to be completed and signed by two supervisors or colleagues who know and observed your professional practice.
Written explanation on each prompt in two to three pages for each criterion, not to exceed 12 total pages.
Written in paragraph form (not bulleted) and using correct grammar and punctuation.
Responses must include references to the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession and be labeled with the matching standard from the rubric in parenthesis.
Evidence must be submitted to support responses.
When considering areas to focus on in the written narrative it would be better to focus on a few areas and provide an in-depth reflection as opposed to many developed areas.
Provide up to 10 pieces of evidence: Evidence is one piece of work or document that supports the written narrative.
Evidence can be used for more than one criterion but needs to be numbered and clearly referenced within the written narrative.
Evidence & narrative explanations must be samples from within the past five years.
Evidence should demonstrate, describe and support what is said in narrative (e.g., a picture of a student project that you discussed or a picture of a bulletin board that demonstrates creating a positive learning environment).

You may renew your Master Teacher Designation in Year 4 or Year 5 of your Master Teacher designation to complete the renewal process. If a Master Teacher successfully renews his/her designation during Year Four, his/her renewal status does not take effect until their current five-year designation expires.

The Ohio Dept of Education requires a verification form. You will need to email Kristen Huston requesting the verification form with your "official name" for your license and your Ohio Educator State ID (License Number).
