Marking Period Grades are comprised of:

65% = Assessments

25% = Classwork

10% = Homework

Major assessments are worth double and include final drafts of writing pieces, unit tests, and projects.

Minor assessments include quizzes, first drafts of writing pieces, shorter writing pieces, and notebook work.

Grades are calculated using rubrics, which are posted for each assignment on Google Classroom.

Extra credit assignments are not given.

Parents and students are advised to check Genesis weekly.

Students are permitted to hand in work for credit for two days after the due date with a penalty. Students who were absent on the day the homework was assigned will receive extra time equivalent to the days they missed (at a minimum).

Major assessments will be scored no lower than 55 percent.

Students may redo one major assessment per marking period.

The responsibility lies with the student to make sure he or she has completed missed work, including quizzes and tests.
