Eighth-Grade Memoirs and Self Portraits
Students wrote three-scene memoirs, revealing important themes and lessons in their lives. In a mini-unit taught by visiting artist and professional photographer Erik James Montgomery, students paired their work with self portraits using a variety of photocompositional techniques.
Seventh Grade Book Covers
Seventh graders photographed covers for their realistic fiction short stories in companion mini-unit taught by visiting artist Erik James Montgomery. So much of the vocabuary of photography mirrors the language of the writer: perspective, compostion, and contrast, to name a few.
