In History, students follow the Edexcel specification. The document to the left will give you details on the content of the specification including how students will be assessed as well as the content of the topics of which they study.
The list below highlights the topics that we study in GCSE History at Baysgarth and the page numbers for where to find the topic content:
Paper 1: Thematic Study: Crime and punishment in Britain, c1000–present and Whitechapel, c1870-c1900: crime, policing and the inner city (pages 8-10).
Paper 2: British Depth Study: Anglo-Saxon and Norman England, c1060–88 (pages 18-19).
Paper 2: Period Study: The American West, c1835–c1895 (pages 30-31).
Paper 3: Modern Depth Study: The USA, 1954–75: conflict at home and abroad (pages 44-45).
Students will have access to a google drive folder where they will be able to access various revision resources such as revision guides, knowledge organisers and past paper exams, and will regularly be updated with further resources that are considered useful for Y11 revision.
There are lots of resources out there to help students prepare for their History exams but it's important that students revise from the appropriate resources. I would recommend the following:
Edexcel GCSE History textbook from Hodder - these are the textbooks which we use in lesson for all topics.
Edexcel GCSE History Revision Guide from Pearson (as seen in the image above). Pearson also offer revision cards for each topic.
Edexcel GCSE History Revision Guide from CGP that gives a good overview of each topic.
