Bay Village City Schools Experienceships
Bay Village City School District (BVCSD) is excited to promote career readiness for our students. From kindergarten through twelfth grade, career readiness focuses on empowering students with the academic, and technical knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a chosen career. Each student who graduates from Bay High School should be prepared for one of the four Es: Employment, Enlistment, Enrollment, or Entrepreneurship. Our goal is to empower students with tools for making informed decisions about their future. “Experienceship" encompasses BVCSD’s goal of engaging students with real world experiences, including internships, career shadows, mentorship, speakers, worksite tours, and more! These may take place during the school year or the summer.
2023-2024 Student Experiences
"I have had the opportunity to practice digital advertising for several events, like our Prom Collection drive that we are currently accepting donations for! We are also preparing for a summer market event, where I will gain experience in reaching out to potential sponsors and positively communicating with event vendors. This internship has fostered my creativity and has allowed for me to observe and participate in social media marketing and event planning. I have made a ton of connections with women business owners in the Cleveland area and am excited to see how Woman Up flourishes in coming years." - Jillian
"I love the art museum, so I applied for this opportunity. I want to major in Psychology and eventually go to law school, and I thought meeting people from high schools all over the area would be cool. I’ve met people I never would have met otherwise, and it’s just been a really cool experience. We meet at CMA once a week and are curating an art exhibit, with the theme “what does adornment mean to you.” We select artwork from the CMA’s education art collection. I chose a flint case from the 1600s with gold. The exhibit will be on display in June 2024." - Faith
