What is Vision Mobilisation?
Vision Mobilisation is an elegant framework that supports us in taking up the question of "what is mine to do within the current global crises?" and finding ways to mobilise our current capacity in ways that are aligned with and move towards realising our vision for the world.
Check out this 7-minute video where we share about what excites us about bringing you this course
Editing by Luca Incorvaia - Music by Emma van den Boogert
How is the course being held?
This 6-week introductory course is designed as an immersion into the Vision Mobilisation (VM) Framework. We hold a lot of humility about whether this is the path for you. Our aim with this course is therefore to give you an experience of the essence of the work. Our hope is that this can support you in your discernment about whether you wish to dive more deeply into Vision Mobilisation.
This course is now in its third iteration; there are many people and many layers of feedback that have been integrated to offer you what we offer you now. In this way, the course itself has evolved through community co-creation, which the team is stewarding. We invite you to enter into this journey for this next round of community co-learning and experimentation.
We plan our sessions to be as interactive as possible. We aim to invite us all to engage fully by presenting the foundational building blocks of VM largely by asking questions, and by holding lots of small group or big group activities. We hope that this form of exploration will facilitate a 'learning by doing' experience, which is aligned with the essence of VM.
Testimonial
I highly recommend this course, not just for the inspiring content but also for the modelling of the content, giving participants a lived experience of much of what is being taught. To name one example among many, those offering the course don't just talk about the importance of community when doing liberation work; they themselves work as a team, with a number of people filling a number of different roles, and they also give participants ample opportunity for learning and exploring together with each other.
—Helen Adamson, participant from VM Intro Course 2022
What we anticipate you’ll get from participating in this course:
A more clear sense of your own vision and an embodied sense of how that vision lives in you.
Increased capacity to see and hold with compassion the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
Practical tools to support living with an active heart that is more ready to engage all the complexities that arise when you're faced with that gap.
Lived experience of being held by a team that is working within the principles of the Nonviolent Global Liberation Community, where the VM originated.
An experiential introduction to how we are integrating a power and privilege lens into our work.
A collective experience that something different is possible.
*We will not be working on our individual VM's and rather will focus on gaining a foundational level experience of the essence of VM.
Overall, we are aiming to create an immersive experience based in community co-learning.
See below for more details on each session.

We are consciously choosing, at present, to hold the course at times that create more ease for those in Asia and to put the stretch on the U.S. This is to compensate systemically for the stretch more often going to those who live in Asia, and also to increase capacity for this work in that part of the world.
If you are in U.S. timezones and want to attend the course, you are welcome to join our watch party! This is a held space where you can watch the recording and engage in the breakouts along with others in U.S. friendly timezones. The watch party will be held by Stacey Martino Riviera and Lynn Thomas. It will happen on the same dates of the course at 10:00am - 12:30pm PST (NOTE: end time may run over depending on engagement post-breakout).
If you want to join the watch party, please mention this in the registration form (scroll down to Our Approach To Giving And Receiving section to find a link to the form).
Part 1: Cradling the Gap
25th April 2023 - Vision and the sacred
Why: To connect each person to their access to source as a foundation for the work and connect collectively to source as an access point for learning about vision.
This session situates us within the overall “why” of the VM: closing the gap between vision and current capacity. We connect with source, whatever that means to each of us and whatever our access is, and open to it as our anchor and guide for this work. We connect with, appreciate, and celebrate one another's connection with source as a path of beginning to weave an interdependent field. We connect around how the world would be if we lived together from this place of vision.
2nd May 2023 - The Gap: External structural
Why: To deepen understanding of social narratives and how they affect our lives, so as to begin to develop more of a systemic lens that is transferable in its application across both the individual and collective spheres.
In this session, we connect with how we feel about where we are now as compared to our vision. We look together at what constitutes “the gap” in relation to our social structures, institutions, and the narratives that sustain them. We look together at how these structures replicate within how we live and structure our lives.
9th May 2023 - The Gap: Internal structural
Why: To deepen understanding of how social narratives get internalised and start to forge a pathway of tenderness about this for self and other.
In this session, we look at how the structures that we live within have become internalised and what it means to live within and internalise narratives as a young unaware being. We also connect about how these narratives affect our lives.
Part 2: Laying a Pathway for Transformation
16th May 2023 - Elements of the VM
Why: To nurture engaged awareness and internalisation of the principles of the VM framework
This session will be an introduction to and interactive engagement with the VM framework. We will be discovering the areas and principles together.
23rd May 2023 - Liberation: Untwisting the field
Why: To tie it all together through understanding the VM’s liberative trajectory towards “untwisting the field”. Seeing all we have learned so far; sourcing vision, our conditioning, and the gap, through the lens of the liberatory aspects of the VM
In this session, we tie together the previous sessions by looking at how the VM supports liberation through its different elements and from here connect also to the power of mourning to bridge the gap
30th May 2023 - Weaving Community
Why: We need one another to do this work and it’s important to have integration spaces together to be able to weave and carry forwards what we have learned together
In this final session we share and harvest with one another our learning journeys throughout this course. This session is designed to support integration and community building, which is a vital element of VM, because the foundational orientation of the VM work is to re-weave interdependence – something akin to appreciative inquiry. We share appreciation, what worked and what didn’t, and celebrations.
Meet the Team
From top left: Menaka, Emma, Yanae, Eddy, Aurelia, Marta, Vesta, *Maya Mey and Yaren
Menaka Neotia - P&P Tracking: Menaka is deeply engaged in exploring the integration of a power and privilege lens within the Vision Mobilisation Framework. As a key person in the development of the P&P tracking function, Menaka supports grounding our movement towards vision in the reality of the present. She currently lives in India where she is valiantly working on untwisting the field in her personal environment.
Emma Quayle - Content Delivery & Overall Holding: Emma was central to the synthesis of various aspects of Miki's work and Arnina's work "The Compass" that forms the essence and fundamental structure of what is the Vision Mobilisation Framework. She is a founding NGL member and dedicates her whole life to what NGL is creating. She originally comes from Cornwall in the UK and is currently vagabonding with others from NGL with the aim of establishing the first on-land NGL community.
Yanae Yang - Liberation Logistics & Admin Holding: Yanae is from a highly submissive culture which results in an experience of powerlessness for her. By experimenting with elements of Vision Mobilisation she is experiencing a gradual transformation in her connection with her power. She, together with Vesta, are exploring how to do the administration work in a liberative way with full integration of her strength and capacity. She’s from China, is currently based in Hong Kong, and is seeking to form a home pod.
Eddy Quinn - Content Delivery & Overall Holding: Eddy has been engaging with VM since the initial coaching calls held by Emma in NGL in 2020. He has experience in applying it with individuals and in communities and is a key player in supporting its current development. Originally from Ireland, he is currently vagabonding within the land-based community project alongside Emma.
Aurélia Saint-Just - P&P Tracking: Aurélia joined NGL as a friend in 2022. She is holding with Menaka and Miki Kashtan the group exploring Power & Privilege (P&P) through the lens of liberation using the VM framework. She lives in an intentional community in the South-West of France.
Marta Costa Neto - Feedback Holding: Marta was exposed to the VM framework during the NVC academy 2021 course and since then has taken more and more steps towards more and more co-holding within NGL. Marta’s capacity for detail and precision that is held within a depth of care for all is the backbone of our team’s capacity to take in feedback and integrate it in a way that supports forward movement within togetherness. She is from Portugal and currently lives in Ireland.
Vesta Kroese - Supporting Liberation Logistics Holding: Vesta has been engaging with VM since 2020 and has been experimenting with bringing it both to individuals and to artist communities she is part of. She is a member of the recently re-formed VM holding team and a vital support during the courses orienting to catch and hold voids. She currently lives between The Netherlands and vagabonding with Eddy, Emma, and Miki.
*Maya Mey - is not a part of the holding team, and she is a part of what the team is holding. By engaging deeper elements of the VM as a team, we are experimenting with how to create conditions whereby Yaren is supported to do purpose-work in a way that is not at cost to baby, and baby's existence contributes to supporting our purpose work to be connected to life.
Yaren Köse - Content Providing: Yaren’s history with VM started in Turkey, where she was part of a team supporting people to explore VM, including holding a VM intensive. She also designed the VM diagram in collaboration with Emma. She is an NGL member and has a deep appreciation of the nonlinear nature of the VM framework, which allows for many entry points for various contexts.
Other people - in-session functions: There will be a number of other people from within NGL who will support in holding the sessions within the following functions: participant support, provider support, tech support, welcoming. The whole team is still being built and more information will be available after registration and within a few weeks.
If yes, please continue below!
This course will be recorded and recordings will be made available to all participants.
Session recordings and materials will be added to our NGL library for anyone interested in this offering in the future.
One of NGL’s guiding principles is “We embrace a gift-economy approach to resource generation and distribution as a fast track to liberation from scarcity, the deepest root of patriarchy, by stretching both our willingness to give unilaterally and our willingness to receive unilaterally.”
So, it may come as no surprise that this offering is brought to you from NGL as a gift!
This has nothing to do with it being “free”, though. We invite you to step into the experiment in the gift economy and to become a part of what makes our giving and your receiving of this work sustainable for us all.
NGL’ers engage in deep experimentation, with our lives. This experimentation is the backbone of what we share with the world in the form of courses, tools, materials, etc. For what we do to be in integrity with our vision for the world, we choose to share the fruits of our experimentation and our process freely, and we need to sustain ourselves to be able to offer what we do.
There are no sliding scales or other suggestions of amounts to give, simply the following guide:
First, please trust your intuition and/or gut sense about what arises in you.
Sense fully into what is possible for you to give without stretching beyond what is sustainable for you. Then, check within yourself, would there be any resentment if you gave this amount? If yes, reduce it, if not, increase the number in your mind and see how you respond bodily to that…
Please know that giving zero is welcomed if this is what is possible for you.
When you have found a number that you can settle on, you are complete :)

Mobilising Towards Vision Packet
This packet documents all the steps necessary, both for individuals and organisations, to orient toward vision, map current reality, derive values and purpose to anchor internal and external movement toward vision, assess capacity and identify a theory of change, and create agreements and systems to make tangible and support movement toward the vision. It is based on years of learning and application in the field by multiple people. (39 pages)
Nonviolent Global Liberation (NGL)
NGL is the home of the Vision Mobilisation Framework.
In NGL, We are motivated by a stubborn faith that another world is, indeed, possible and that we can, collectively, live into it even today. Since 2017, we have been experimenting with everything we know about how to respond to the gap.
We put all our life into our experiments, leaving no stone unturned. Our experiments are rooted in nonviolence and are both radical and practical. We engage at all levels, from reconceptualising intimacy and family to designing a model of global governance. We are not producers. We are not advisors. We are a community of practice. We are excited to share, as a gift to you, the fruits of our labor.
