Mrs. Toohey's Kindergarten

Adventure: (noun) an exciting or remarkable experience.

I believe that Kindergarten is the starting point of a remarkable experience.  Children learn and thrive in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment.  Children will learn and practice a variety of concepts.  Physical, social and emotional development, language, literacy, critical thinking and cognitive skills.  Children will apply these important skills throughout their lives.  Kindergarten is where the adventure begins.

"Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning."

~ Fred Rogers

My name is Suzanne Toohey and I am the  Kindergarten teacher!  I am excited to meet my students and to learn who they are as individuals, what motivates them, and how I can inspire them to be the best version of themselves.

This is my seventh  year working at the Bay Head Elementary School. Previously, I had served as a paraprofessional in grades 1-5.  I am a graduate of Salve Regina University, and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.  My family and I live locally in Point Pleasant Beach. We have two boys Abe (13), Beau ( 11) and a dog named Gus. We love traveling, going to the beach in the summer, and snowboarding in the winter.  Having navigated Kindergarten as a parent, I am now looking forward to this challenge as a teacher.

I am excited to connect with your child and help them start this school year off right.  I also look forward to connecting with you.  Communication between home and school is very important to me as an educator.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at Toohey@bayheadschool.org.
