Hello! My name is Amber Shepard. I am entering into my sixteenth year of teaching; however, for the last thirteen years I have been teaching 3rd grade. I am a Florida native and grew up in Tampa. I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

My husband, Mike and I have one 13-year-old son named Mikey and a 9-month old fur-baby named Sadie. Mikey will be an 8th grader at Bay Haven this year. I love spending time with my family and I love to cook! In my free time, I like traveling to Tampa to spend time with my parents and best friend.

As a parent and teacher, I believe that all children deserve a high-quality education in a safe and respectful environment. My goal as your child’s teacher is to improve their academic performance by incorporating HIGH EXPECTATIONS that inspire and motivate them every day. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages them to reach their full potential as learners. In my fifteen years of teaching, I have had the opportunity to teach students with ADD/ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome, speech/language impairments, emotional/behavioral disorders, severe learning disabilities and students who have spoken little to no English. My experiences have taught me that no matter what impairment a student may have or culture they may come from…. ALL STUDENTS CAN LEARN.

As all of us know, this will be one of my most challenging school years as a parent, teacher and student. As a teacher, I treat and take care of my students as if they were my own and I am going to do my best to keep our students safe and healthy while they are at school.

I can’t wait to get to know you and your family this year! I look forward to working with you as a team to make this a successful and exciting school year for your child!

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email me or send me a message through Class Dojo

Sincerely,

Amber Shepard
