About the Student Pastor Role
The Student Pastor serves as the primary leader of the Student Ministry, supporting the church’s vision of saturating the 4B Area with the gospel by restoring people, families, and churches.
They will shepherd this critical ministry by discipling junior high and high school students, equipping parents to be the primary faith trainers of the next generation, and leading the Student Ministry staff and volunteers with excellence.
This role reports to the Discipleship Pastor and supervises the Student Ministry staff and volunteers, providing leadership and oversight to its teaching, strategic planning, ministry events, and LifeGroups.
In order to effectively execute these areas of responsibility, they will show evidence of a high degree of relational intelligence, collaborative work in teams, as well as giftedness in teaching and communication in their work history. This individual will operate with integrity, authenticity, and loyalty, so as to encourage and enrich the spiritual growth endeavors of the church, faithfully trusting Christ to use them effectively.
Student Pastor Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of weekly Student Ministry (Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights)
Plan and execute regular events strategically aligned with BAC Vision and Values (e.g. Summer Camp, Collide, Student Missions, Purity for Life, Senior Summit, etc.)
Create and maintain an effective and balanced strategy to reach students at BACS and public campuses
Develop and equip student leadership teams
Integrate Legacy Milestones 4, 5, and 6 into the regular life of Student Ministry
Equip and resource parents to become the primary faith trainers of their students
Consistently recruit and develop Student Ministry leadership
Lead the Girls Minister, Student Ministry Assistant, Summer Student Interns, and any additional Student Ministry staff effectively
Develop and maintain effective communication with parents and students using social media and other communication tools
Engage local schools regularly, being present and participating in opportunities to connect with and impact students and staff
Teach students on a regular basis in large gatherings and intentional discipleship settings
Work closely with other Generational Team members to plan and execute yearly parent training events and leadership-equipping events
What We're Looking For
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Seminary degree preferred
Preferred Experience:
At least five years of experience working with and leading in ministry to junior high and high school students
This person must embrace their role as a partner, equipper, and encourager of parents as the primary faith trainers of their children
Ability to build and lead volunteer teams to expand the impact made on students and their families
Familiarity with Legacy Milestones and passion for equipping parents to disciple their students
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to form, build, and maintain strong relationships
Organizational and administrative skills
Ability to develop a sustainable leadership pipeline
