The scale is:

Grades in all subject areas will be assigned based on each student’s mastery of the B.E.S.T. Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. A variety of assessments will be used to document student achievement. Parents will be informed of student progress in all areas. Summative assessments will be sent home in the Take Home Folder.

Math assessments will be given frequently with our new math series. Formative assessments will not count as a grade, but will be entered into the online gradebook with a 0% weight. Summative assessments will be weighted for a grade in varying categories.

To determine mastery of grade level standards in these areas, a variety of assessments will be used. Assessment will be documented through student-generated projects, special assignments, and post-unit tests. Criteria for mastery and scoring guides will be discussed and made available when the assignment is given.
*Open book tests will not be allowed to be retaken.
