Background
The current project is designed to explore the effects of PGRs and delayed sowing time on lodging resistance in grain oats for better grain yield with good quality.
Impact
This research project is going on in our laboratory to explore the possibilities of growing oats as cereals in Bangladesh and several genotypes had been collected and evaluated for grain yield and its nutritional quality. The finding of the project reveals that oat can be grown successfully in Bangladesh for grain if we could overcome the lodging loss due to over luxuriant growth with taller plant. The current research project will help to evaluate the efficacy of plant growth regulators and delayed sowing in reducing the lodging tendency with higher economic return led to introduce grain oat cultivation in Bangladesh.
