Bio: Howdy! This is my 6th year teaching and my 2nd year at Laurin. I hope you won’t hold it against me that I grew up in California. I went to college in Washington, though, at Walla Walla University and have my Masters in Teaching from Western Governors University. I have one wife, Sherilyn, and 3 kids, Madi (22), Levi (20), Ani (12), and one son-in-law, Edson! I love creating music, camping, paddle-boarding, hiking and mountain biking. I also love helping students figure out how to break down challenges into manageable chunks and get them done!

Bio: Hello! I am Karl Johnson and I have the privilege to serve your children as their 6th grade math and History teacher. I have been a teacher for 21 years, with most of these served in the Battle Ground School District. I am excited each year to meet our students and launch them into their middle school years and help them navigate the ups and downs of middle school. I also currently am serving as the ASB advisor at Laurin and am always excited to help students reach their leadership goals. Feel free to contact me anytime as I always like to connect with parents and families of our students!
Bio: This is my 19th year teaching and my 9th at Laurin. I have taught ELA, history, and sometimes even math in America, Australia, Taiwan, and Peru. I love to travel and have been to all 7 continents and 65 countries. I believe my extensive travel experience helps me bring my history lessons alive. My undergraduate work is in journalism because I love to write and share that love with my students. I look forward to finding new and crazy ways to make learning fun this year. Please feel free to let me know if you have questions or need help. I’m always happy to help, and I look forward to meeting each of you.
Bio: After graduating from Kettle Falls High School, I attended Washington State University in Pullman. After that I moved out here, did my student teaching in Battle Ground and never left. This is my 15th year at Laurin. My wife, son, daughter and I enjoy being outside and playing sports. I like to surf, play rugby, and fish. That’s a small snapshot of me, holler if you want to know more. I can’t wait to meet you.
Bio: This is my eighteenth year teaching 6th grade at Laurin Middle School. I graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a double major in Politics and Government and Communications. I received my Masters in Teaching at WSUV and found my home at Laurin. I have taught all subjects, but primarily teach History and ELA. I love making connections with my students and making learning both meaningful and fun. I enjoy spending time with my husband traveling. I also enjoy arts and crafts, reading, movies and animals, especially dogs and goats.
