Monday/Thursday Block 3: twxgfsd
Tuesday/Friday Block 5: npgp7cl
Students: It is important to check Google Classroom and do the assignments. We will have weekly quizzes the same as if we were in the classroom.
Parents: Please be sure students are doing their weekly assignments. I am flexible and if you find other resources that work better for you and your student, please let me know so we can determine if the materials will meet the learning standards.
The most important thing you can do to be successful is to maintain a schedule and not get behind on assignments. If things are getting difficult, please please email me and we will work out a plan. I know life gets messy sometimes and I am here to help you as best I can. Also, remember to exercise, eat healthy, sleep well, laugh often and drink lots of coffee. :)
I am planning to Zoom our first class and then we will determine if we need to continue using Zoom. Zoom fatigue is a real thing and I want to be sure we don't go there. I am thinking of using FlipGrid for our receptive practice, i.e., you show me you know the signs. This will be a learning exercise for me as well since I have never used FlipGrid and we will work through it together. This is really much less than ideal, however, it is our reality. I met with my deaf friend a few weeks ago for an afternoon and she showed me a few new resources which I am very excited to use this year. For now, I have posted the two anchors I use in this program: Lifeprint is my curriculum and is an accredited college course out of California State University. Dr. Vicars is deaf. Memrise is a great way to increase vocabulary much the same way you would use flashcards.
Here are links to resources used in ASL I:

I look forward to partnering with you in this adventure!
Please email me with any questions or concerns.
