Mr. Horn's Biography
This year, I am beginning my 18th year of teaching Social Studies, 16 of which have been at Battle Ground High School. I have also spent one year teaching at both Heritage and Prairie High Schools. After graduating from Prairie High School, I headed off to Pullman, Washington and became a Coug. Katy, my wife of 17 years, and I have three children, Lincoln (12 years), Preston (9 years) and Addison (8 years). When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy watching the Cougs, St. Louis Cardinals, and Portland Trailblazers, reading, playing golf, traveling and watching movies. Teaching Social Studies has always been a passion of mine because I believe that history continues to repeat itself and by looking at the past, there are many lessons that can be learned to help us be more successful in the future.
Mr. Horn's Message
High school should be a time for all students to enjoy and find their place to fit in and succeed. In a school with more than 2,000 students, this can be sometimes be challenging and I am here to help however I can. In order to find that success in the classroom, you need to be diligent in completing assignments and come to class prepared. This can mean a variety of things, including finishing homework, using class time effectively and studying for tests and quizzes. I am here to help you learn and grow academically, and I recognize that every student goes through this process differently. If you are willing to put in the necessary effort, then together we will work to ensure you achieve your goals.
