At Battle Creek Public Schools, we believe that professional development has the power to inspire and empower educators for success in the classroom. That’s why we’re excited to offer the Transformational Teacher Institute (TTI), and we encourage all educators to participate. Aligned with BCPS's Theory of Action, these sessions provide proven strategies to enhance both student success and classroom engagement. These sessions are designed to enhance your teaching strategies while supporting ongoing professional growth—and you’ll be rewarded for your efforts!
We value the role of professional development and are delighted to offer a $125 stipend for each session you complete. Here are the eligibility details:
New Teachers: Teachers in their first year of teaching or their first year at BCPS can earn $125 per session, up to 16 sessions.
Returning BCPS Teachers: Eligible to receive $125 per session, up to 8 sessions.
Stipend Eligibility Requirements:
To receive a stipend, all three of the following steps must be completed:
Sign Up: Register for sessions in Frontline.
Attend: Ensure you are present for the session.
Sign In: You must sign in using bit.ly/TeacherBCPS during the session.
Stipends will be paid at the end of the school year. There is no minimum requirement; you’ll be compensated for each session you attend. Whether you participate in one or multiple sessions, your efforts in advancing your learning and engagement will be rewarded!
We understand that flexibility is key, so you can attend TTI sessions at your own pace. There is no requirement to attend a session every month— you may complete your sessions as your schedule allows. All stipends will be paid at the end of the school year, based on the sessions you've completed.
TTI offers a variety of topics to help you grow professionally. Select sessions that align with your teaching goals and interests. Since each session is paid individually, you can choose the ones most relevant to your professional development.
Each in-person course is limited to 30 participants, so be sure to register as soon as possible to secure your seat. Don't miss out on these valuable learning opportunities!
Do I need to attend at least eight sessions to receive a TTI stipend?
No, you’ll receive a stipend for each session you attend. There’s no minimum requirement—just attend and engage!
What if I sign up for a session but can’t attend?
You will only be paid for the sessions you attend and complete the necessary requirements for. If something comes up, simply unregister in Frontline and join a future session.
Why wasn’t my Professional Development completed in Frontline, or why can’t I find it?
This could happen if you forgot to register in Frontline or forgot to sign in during the session. If you have any questions, please contact Nicole Thompson for assistance.
Can I attend TTI if I’m not a Teacher or Long-Term Sub?
Yes! All BCPS staff are welcome to attend TTI sessions, but only Teachers and Long-Term Subs are eligible for payment.
I am interested in facilitating a TTI session. Is that possible?
Yes, you can facilitate a TTI session! Please click here to complete a facilitation request form. If you're unsure or would like some support, consider asking your principal or coach to co-facilitate with you.
We encourage every educator to take advantage of these valuable learning opportunities. By investing in your professional growth, you'll help transform our classrooms and ensure success for every student. Sign up today and take the next step in your teaching journey!
