This page provides you with the information you need to successfully select your modules at each Level of your degree, and ensure you have the correct credits to graduate from your Programme of Study.
The academic year is broken up into two semesters. Every module runs for a total of 13 weeks in either semester 1 or semester 2. With this in mind the following rules apply:
The 120 credits worth of modules you must study in an academic year (60 credits per semester) are broken down into the following three categories:
Single Honours:
120 credits per year in your Single Honours subject. 60 credits in semester 1 and 60 credits in semester 2.
Combined Honours:
Again, you must pick 120 credits worth of modules per year, with 60 credits in semester 1 and 60 credits in semester 2. However, you can decide to split your 120 credits between your two Subjects in any of the following ways:
60 credits in Subject A and 60 credits in Subject B
40 credits in Subject A and 80 credits in Subject B
80 credits in Subject A and 40 credits in Subject B
Please note you cannot drop below 40 credits in either of your Subjects when studying a Combined Honours degree.
