¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!
For 20 years I was employed at Elmwood Park Memorial Middle School/High School in Jersey as a Spanish teacher. I moved to the Finger Lakes area three years ago after my retirement in NJ and became teaching at Dana Lyon Middle School in 2021.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Paterson University and received my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Secondary Education. I obtained my Master's Degree from the University of Salamanca in Spain, where I continued my studies in the Spanish language and culture. Shortly after, I received my TEFL Certification in Barcelona, Spain, which enables me to teach English abroad.
In the summer of 2016, I had the privilege of attending the Holocaust Summer Seminar with Maud Dahme, a Holocaust survivor. There, I had the opportunity to travel to Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and the Netherlands. This experience has influenced me to continue my studies in the Holocaust and to expand my lessons culturally, artistically, and to bring new elements into my classroom.
I love to travel and in 2018, I united with Education First Tours and organized trips to Europe with high school students of Elmwood Park. I have completed three tours: Spain, Italy, and London & Paris.
Besides being a world traveler, I have a passion for art, and I have a strong desire to learn about different countries and their cultures.
