Earth's Systems: The Geosphere!

Earth is made up of four different systems that all work together, called spheres. Between them, they contain EVERYTHING on our planet. One of the spheres is called the geosphere. Let's take a look at it!

Geo is a Greek word that means "ground" or "earth," so that's an easy way to tell what the geosphere includes! The geosphere is made up of all the rocks and minerals on Earth, and all of the landforms those rocks and minerals make up - like volcanoes, mountains, and other landforms! Anything made up of Earth (soil, rocks, sand, etc.) is part of the geosphere. So, the geosphere only deals with nonliving things!

Other than solid rock, the geosphere is also made up of molten (melted) rock! You can see this when you look at the layers of Earth. Watch the video below to learn about the layers of Earth, all of which are part of the geosphere!!
