The tournaments follow World-standardized 8-ball rules.

Playing matches:

Play matches within 3 days if possible. Winners email results (incl # of frames won by each player) to the Pool Officers and cc the opponent.

Match lengths:

Best of 3: Rounds 1 and 2

Best of 5: Quarterfinals and Semifinals 

Best of 7: Final

Notes on Rules

• Winner of lag determines who breaks first, alternating thereafter

• Balls racked according to diagram at link above with top ball (not 8-ball) on spot

• Groups determined on legal shots only

• Ball in hand for all fouls

• No three-cushion rule—no contact or contact with wrong ball first is a foul

• Call each ball and pocket—no garbage (but no need to call banks, caroms, etc.)
