AIM OF NCC
The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit.
Associate NCC Officer:
Lt. (Dr.) Sutanu Dutta Chowdhury
Lt. (Dr.) Sutanu Dutta Chowdhury was commissioned into the 48 Bengal Bn NCC of the West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate in February, 2020. He completed his training from Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee. He has attended Republic Day Camp (RDC 2022), Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat (EBSB) and Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC). At present, he is appointed as Board member for “C” certificate exam.
PLEDGE
We the cadets of the National Cadet Corps, do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India. We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation. We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings.
About Us
The Nation cadet Corps (NCC) is the organization under the Ministry of Defence. It acts as the body to provide the basic military training that inculcates the feeling of comradeship, courage,honesty and, above all, the patriotism.
Basirhat College NCC unit (48/2 Coy Battalion) was established in 1957 with a view to impart the rudimentary skills and training in handling of weapons of different type, and make them physically tough such that they could face the hardship easily. Both the general and honours students of arts, commerce and science streams may opt for NCC training. At present, about 160 boys and 55 girls can take admission in NCC for each year. Cadets may attend the NCC training camps organized by battalion, group or central holding at different locations within or outside of the state. Cadets participate in different institutional and social events/works throughout the years. The NCC unit of the college organizes special events for celebration of Independence Day (15 th August), Netaji’s Birth Day (23 rd January) and Republic Day (26 th January) for every year. Cadets of this NCC unit participate in different competitions organized by different associations. The NCC unit of this college maintains their motto “Unity & Discipline” over the years and thereby establish themselves as most vital section of the college.
