Margaret Tucker Art Specialist K-12 mtucker@basinschools.net 208 392-4183 ext. 1289

Yes. Our district has a K-12 Art Specialist. That's me, Margaret Tucker. I love what I do! Teaching Kids. And teaching kids art? That's the best combination! I've been doing this for a while. Before long my first students will be sending me their grandchildren. I believe all children can find some art form they enjoy and can become good at. I enjoy opening up the world of art to our students. When children finish works of art they are proud of, they get this look--a very satisfied look. That is my reward. I love that look!

I have taken classes in art education, from kindergarten level clear through high school. So my credential covers those grades. And I went ahead and earned an M.A. in art education. So, parents, you can be confident that your child will be learning valuable knowledge and practicing specific skills in the Visual Arts. I have been with Basin School District since 1990. I started out teaching elementary school children (including Kindergarten). Then in 1999 I began teaching middle and high school Art. I have also co-taught Night School when we had it here. This year I am teaching Art to students in grades K-6, Middle School and High School. I also teach Ceramics.

My favorite medium is clay. So I am fortunate that our district supports my love of clay by letting me bring clay projects to all K-6 students and all my Middle and High School Art and Ceramic students. Of course there's also drawing, painting, printmaking, weaving, gluing, cutting, sculpting, etc. and having fun along the way!
