If you are listed on a Provincial Championship roster, you must meet Baseball Alberta’s coaching certification requirements before the applicable deadline.
Clinics may not be available close to Provincials, so early completion is strongly recommended. Coaches who are not compliant by the deadline will not be permitted on the field.
All required NCCP components must be completed prior to Provincial Championships.
These requirements apply to all Head and Assistant Coaches listed on a Provincial roster, unless otherwise noted.
AAA and AA teams are reviewed at initial roster submission
A teams are reviewed after initial roster submission
Community League requirements are administered by local associations
All Coaches on Provincial Rosters Must:
✅ Be registered in the NCCP Baseball system
✅ Complete required NCCP courses for their age group and level
✅ Meet Safe Sport or Respect in Sport requirements (see below)
Baseball Alberta coaching accreditation meets the standards required for participation at Baseball Canada and Western Canadian Baseball Association Championships.
NCCP Registration (Mandatory)
All coaches must be registered through the Baseball Canada NCCP system.
New coaches pay a one-time $50.00 NCCP registration fee
This provides access to Coach Initiation in Sport
Coaches then complete either:
Coach Initiation in Baseball (Rally Cap)
Coach Initiation in Baseball (Fundamentals)
Coaches who previously completed Level 1 Technical (old NCCP system) may indicate this during registration and have the fee waived.
Making Ethical Decisions (MED) – When Required
Some divisions require completion of the MED Online Evaluation.
MED must be completed before the deadline
Coaches who miss the deadline will be removed from the roster
Coaches who completed Teaching and Learning can access MED at no cost

NOTE:
'AA' Tier 1 teams have coach requirements to meet the Western Canadian Baseball Association (WCBA) Championship coaching requirements.
'A' Teams
Coaches accreditation will be checked once initial rosters are submitted. The Baseball Alberta Office will provide info to coaches not meeting the certification requirements, advising them that if the Initiation Online Module is not completed by the Provincial Championship weekend, that coach will not be allowed on the field.
Community League Coaches
Coach accreditation will be administered by the local Association. Baseball Alberta highly recommends that Community League Coaches (including 7U Rally Cap and 9U) take the online Respect in Sport Module - For Activity Leaders or the Safe Sport E-Learning online module.
All coaches on provincial rosters MUST be registered in the NCCP baseball system. Simply go to www.nccp.baseball.ca/register.php and register. New coaches will be required to pay $37.45 to enter the system and receive access to the Coach Initiation in Baseball (Fundamentals) module. Once this module is completed, they will have access to register in any scheduled NCCP baseball workshop in Alberta. Coaches who have already taken the Level 1 Technical in the old NCCP system may check the box stating that they have done so, and the required fee will be waived.
ALL NON-COMPLIANT COACHES WILL BE REMOVED FROM ROSTERS
All Head Coaches listed on a provincial roster are required to complete the Safe Sport E-Learning online module. All 'AA' and 'AAA' Assistant Coaches are also required to complete the Safe Sport E-Learning online module. This module is accessible through the CAC locker or via a link on your status page at nccp.baseball.ca. All 'A' Assistant Coaches are required to complete Safe Sport E-Learning online module or Respect in Sport. While coaches on a provincial roster are no longer obligated to complete the Respect in Sport online module, Baseball Alberta strongly recommends that associations make it mandatory for their House League coaches to complete the Respect in Sport module.
For 'AAA' & 'AA' Teams, coaching accreditation will be verified upon the submission of initial rosters. Coaches not meeting the accreditation requirements will receive an email from the Baseball Alberta Executive Director, detailing the necessary steps for compliance. Safe Sport E-Learning requirements must be fulfilled before the deadline date; otherwise, the coach will be barred from the field and removed from the Provincial Roster.
For 'A' Teams, coaching accreditation will be assessed upon the submission of initial rosters. The Baseball Alberta Registrar will notify coaches not meeting the certification requirements, stating that if the Safe Sport E-Learning online course is not completed by the Provincial Championship weekend, the head coach will be disqualified from the field and removed from the Provincial Roster.
It is important to note that the Respect in Sport coaching module for other sports is equivalent to the requirement for baseball, but the Respect in Sport parent module (e.g., Hockey Alberta program) is not equivalent to the coaching module.
