Mr. Christiansen
I am proudly "Built by Bethlehem," a graduate of Freedom High School, Class of '87. After high school, I served as a photographer in the Air Force for four years, which ignited my passion for teaching while training others. After my military service, I pursued higher education at Kutztown University and began my teaching career in Bethlehem.
I spent three years as a classroom teacher before transitioning to a role as an Academic Integration Specialist where I spent 17 years helping elementary students harness the power of technology. Currently, as a Tech Integration Coach, I’m eager to continue supporting our school community and advancing our use of technology for both students and staff.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife, who is also a BASD teacher, and our four children and their spouses. I’m an avid camper, fisherman, and sports enthusiast, and I enjoy making the most of my time outdoors.
Mr. DiCicco
I graduated from Freedom High School in 1990 and pursued my passion for teaching at Penn State University, earning a degree in K-6 Education. My commitment to advancing my skills led me to obtain a Master's degree in Educational Technology from Wilkes University. A dedicated educator with a rich background in K-6 education, I had the privilege of teaching 3rd grade at Donegan Elementary for 14 years, where I nurtured young minds and fostered a love for learning. My journey then took me to instructing technology integration, where I spent 8 years helping students and educators embrace the digital age. For the past 6 years, I have proudly served as a district tech coach, where I thrive on collaborating with colleagues and creating engaging, technology-rich learning experiences. Outside of my professional life, I cherish time with my family and find joy in watching my daughter excel in sports and extracurricular activities. My passion for education and technology, coupled with my love for family, defines who I am both in and out of the classroom.
Mr. Connolly
I have been a technology integration coach on the elementary level in the Bethlehem Area School District for 24 years. I explore and implement innovative tools and resources in the classroom and try to implement real-world learning in the classroom. I enjoy teaching both teachers and students how to harness the power of technology effectively through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching sessions. Beyond the classroom, I look for the thrill of adventure when I mountain bike, hike, play disc or regular golf, and play guitar.
Ms. Zundel
I can hardly believe it’s been 30 years in education! I kicked off my career teaching middle school Spanish, ESOL, and Philosophy for Children at Northeast and Nitschmann. After that, I dove into technology as a Computer Specialist at East Hills Middle School, where I learned the ropes of setting up and managing computers and servers.
I worked with our first 1:1 where every middle school student got an iBook laptop as Projector Director and Desktop Support Specialist. I then spent a year at the Center for Advancing Partnerships in Education (CAPE), working with cutting edge technologies and videoconferencing. After that, I joined Blended Schools Network (BSN), where I oversaw an online language school with live courses in Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Mandarin, Spanish, German, French, and Latin.
I returned to the Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) in 2013 and have loved working with new tech tools like Google Apps for Education, Schoology, and Playpost. I help out at the Bethlehem Immersive Learning Center (BILC) at Freedom High School. I’m an ISTE Educator, passionate about using technology in ways that prepare our students.
On the side, I’ve taught at Lehigh University and Wilkes University, focusing on education technology. Right now, I’m diving into how online learning, AI, and student agency are shaping the future of education.
