The best way to learn about Google Classroom is to have your child sign in and show you their classes and their activities. Bellefonte students begin using Google Classroom in kindergarten. You may be surprised at what your child knows how to do. 🙂

How to Sign in at Home
Classroom works best if students use their BASD Chromebooks. When they sign in to the Chromebook, they are signed in to Classroom.
How to Sign in to Google Classroom using a Personal Device - these directions are not needed if your child uses their BASD Chromebook.
Trouble signing in? Please review these troubleshooting steps. Contact your child's teacher if your child is still not able to sign in.
The Classroom mobile app can also be used.

How to Keep Up with Assignments
Have your child show you the To-do screen in Google Classroom which lists all upcoming, missing, and completed assignments.
Ask your child to click the Google Calendar link (found under the Classwork tab). All assignments that have a due date will automatically appear on the student's Google Calendar.
Classroom Email Summaries for Parents and Guardians
To protect student privacy, parents and guardians may not join Google Classroom.
Parents and guardians may sign up to receive email summaries that include missing work, upcoming work, and announcements. Read this article from the Classroom Help center to learn more.
How to Join a Google Meet Video Call
If your child's teacher is using Google Classroom to connect, sign in to Google Classroom and click the "Join" button which appears on the Stream tab under "Meet" .
Students cannot initiate video calls or join video calls before a teacher opens a session.
If your child's teacher is using a nickname (password), go to meet.google.com at the specified time and enter the nickname. (Must be signed in to BASD account.)
