I was born and raised in Bellefonte, PA. After graduating from Bellefonte Area High School, I attended Lock Haven University where I received my degree in Elementary Education (K-6). I completed a student teaching assignment in first grade at Mill Hall Elementary. It was here that I discovered just how much I love teaching children! I had the pleasure of being mentored and coached by an amazing teacher. I felt a strong connection with the kids and instantly knew that this is where I was meant to be, teaching elementary students! I learned so much through this experience that I will carry with me throughout my career! In 2022, I also graduated with my Master's Degree in Educational Technology. This is my 11th year at Benner Elementary as the kindergarten teacher and I wouldn't change it for the world! Benner is a great school with a great staff that are here for our students and would love nothing more then to help them succeed! I currently live in Pleasant Gap, PA with my husband of 14 years, my 8 year old son Kelyn, and my 5 year old daughter, Lena.

One of my main goals for teaching is to instill the love of learning through my students and to make them feel welcome within our classroom. I strongly believe that the students should have just as much say in what happens in their classroom as I do, and therefore I allow my students to actively participate in classroom discussions and decision making. I look forward to spending the year with these wonderful students and assisting them in meeting their potential. I also believe that parent-teacher-student communication is crucial in your child's success, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
