Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are very excited about the upcoming school year. As you know, the fourth and fifth grades are slightly different than the other grades your student has experienced. Your student will have more than one teacher because of departmentalization in the fourth and fifth grades. One thing that will stay the same is our dedication to putting children and their needs first.
We worked together to develop a list of materials that your child will need for this school year. This is a recommended list for those who like to purchase their own materials, it is not a required list. Feel free to purchase all or some of these items, as anything that your child needs and does not have will be provided for them by the Bellefonte Area School District. Keep in mind that it is best if they can keep most of their supplies in their binders. The less they have to carry the easier it is for them.
Binder (optional): With moving between classrooms, it is recommended that students have a binder with storage to help organize their materials. We recommend buying a 2” binder that is durable.
Folders -It helps keep them organized.
A Notebook -for math.
Pencils/Pens: 2 pens, as many #2 pencils mechanical or regular that you want. They go through many throughout the year.
Dry Erase Markers: We use these every day in math!
Pencil bag: An easy-to-carry pouch to transport pencils, erasers, etc. from Class to class. Better if it can fit in their binders.
Headphones: A pair of earbuds that are easy to carry. These are crucial for ELA.
Backpack: Please purchase a sturdy, supportive backpack that fits your child properly.
✨Water Bottle: Students should have a water bottle that they have filled in the Morning and can fill at an appointed time later in the day.
Very Optional... a Wireless Mouse might be useful only if your child feels they need one. Some students can navigate the Chromebooks easier with a mouse and some students do not need them. It can become cumbersome to fit into their binders.
If you have any questions about supplies please feel free to email me. I will gladly answer any questions you may have. 😊
