Hello. My name is Melissa O’Shell. I am your child’s third grade teacher. This will be my 14th year teaching, and I am anxious, eager, and excited for the school year to begin! I would like to introduce myself to you and tell you a little bit more about me...
I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2006, with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. After graduation, I was a substitute teacher for the Bellefonte Area School District. I had the opportunity to work with every grade level and in many different classrooms. My true passion is working with third graders. They will depend on me to teach them everything I can and to be a positive role model in their lives. I can assure you, I will do everything I can to ensure I do not disappoint you or your child’s expectations.
I have four children- SaBella Marie is 10 years old and is a 5th grader in our school! Ayla Rose is my strong willed, free spirited 9 year old. Callum Michael is our energetic 6 year old who is all boy and loves to discover the world around him. FInally, Kaiya Lynn is 18 months old and is such a blessing to our family. She is funny and spunky.
In my free time I enjoy cleaning, playing with my children, shopping, and reading. I enjoy many activities such as scrapbooking, camping, swimming, and learning. Most recently, I obtained my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Clarion University.
I am looking forward to providing a positive and fun-filled school year! Parents, guardians, grandparents, siblings, and teachers all play a vital role in developing children into who they will become. I hope we can all work as a team to educate and shape your child to be the best they can be!
