BuffSciBorgs

September 7, 2019: The BuffSciborgs attended the FTC Kick-Off Party at Nichols School today hosted by Team 12736. Prior to the game release, we discussed various things we need to do to prepare for our season - like getting a crash course in Java and trying to find volunteers for qualifiers. We then watched the game release video three times, and then split up into groups to discuss in detail the game manual. We then came back together as a team to discuss our strategies, which we will need to have in place before we begin to build. We are very excited to start this new season with FIRST!

August 17, 2019: The BuffSciBorgs were graciously invited to take part in an FTC exhibition at the Erie County Fair in Orchard Park, NY today. Fair attendees drove our robot around the field, and we were able to promote the FIRST organization and its importance to our school. Thank you, Team 12736, for inviting us!

March 18, 2019: The BuffSciBorgs were graciously invited to take part in an FTC exhibition at the FRC Tournament in Rochester, NY today. March 9, 2019: The BuffSciBorgs had an amazing time at the FIRST Regionals Championship Games. Although we did not place for any awards, it was rewarding to be part of the experience! As we retire Bepbele for the season, we have many ideas for next season - especially keeping up with the Engineering Book. Thank you for your support!

This weekend, Saturday, March 9th, your BuffSciBorgs will be competing at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in the FIRST Regionals Championship games. All are welcome! Come cheer us on!

January 17, 2019: We received an email yesterday that the Regionals may be postponed due to the weather. Utica, NY is expecting up to one foot of snow on Saturday and an additional 3 to 5 inches on Sunday. Hopefully the weather will change and this snow will get postponed instead of Regionals. We have our fingers crossed!

January 8, 2019: Thank you so much to Stanley Black & Decker for the wonderful donation of power tools! We will put them all to good use!

January 6, 2019: Your BuffSciBorgs competed at the Corning Painted Post High School in Corning, New York today. It was good to be able to work out some of our coding bugs before Regionals!

September 13, 2018: Our BuffSciBorgs are pleased to welcome Mr. Kevin Gee as a new mentor! Mr. Gee has his masters in electrical and computer engineering and is currently pursuing his masters in Physics education at Buff State. At our last Thursday club meet, Mr. Gee gave an overview of engineering management as it applies to robot competitions. It was very informative and gave us many ideas on how to approach our game this year. Thank you, Mr. Gee! Mr. Jeff Britton will also be mentoring us this year. He has been an invaluable source of information concerning things we need to do to successfully design our robot. Thank you, Mr. Britton! We are looking forward to working with you this year!
