GT & Acceleration Referrals

Students may be referred to the gifted program by parents, community members, other students, or teachers . We look at academic performance, achievement test scores, teacher observations, and previous participation in a gifted program. With permission from parents we administer a battery of tests to help determine if special services from the GT department are needed.  GT is NOT a club!! Students are in the program because they need more than the regular classroom curriculum to fulfill their potential. Students are evaluated on academics, creativity, leadership, and problem solving abilities. All documents are reviewed by a committee of five for placement.

Do you know a student in grades 4-12 that you think would benefit from the Gifted & Talented program?  Fill out a referral form below or send an email to sray@bartonsd.org with the following information: student's name, current grade level, and a reason for the referral.
