Habitat conservation

For conservation to be most effective the approach should be focused on sustaining not just a single species but the area where they (and other species) live. This section looks at some of the main habitats found on our planet, why they are important alongside the threats and conservation steps that can be taken to protect them. Within the lessons you will carry out a group research project on one of these habitats, and then present this to the rest of  the class.

Over the next few lessons you will be assigned an international habitat to research and produce a presentation on it's features, importance, threats and conservation steps. There are a few links here to get started when looking at the background on these habitats.
