Teacher Information

Ms. Wiles

Hi all, I’m Ms. Amy Wiles and I teach 8th Grade Science. I am also the team leader of 8th grade so if you have any questions or problems please feel free to reach out to me. I’m starting my 13th year here at BART. I grew up surrounded by science and have a natural love of the workings of the world and a desire to teach it to others. Our topics come from each branch of science- Earth Science includes the reason for the seasons, weather, plate tectonics and natural resources. Life Science includes natural vs artificial selection and genetics and heredity of traits. Our physical science covers an intro to chemistry and Newton’s Laws of physics.

Mr. Holey

Mr. Holey is starting his fifth year as the 8th grade math teacher at BART. Mr. Holey is a graduate of THE Ohio State University where he studied Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, but ultimately earned his degree in Theatre as an actor. He has worked for theatres as an actor and educator all across the country (even as a voice actor for a well known anime series). He is now settled in the Berkshires with his wife and son where he loves playing music, making puppets and solving rubiks cubes. He looks forward to a great year!

Ms. Chelukhova

Hi, friends! This is my fifth year of teaching at BART, and I truly look forward to getting to know you! I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia, so I have an accent and a lot of history to share. I love exploring big ideas and searching for answers to difficult questions. Having an opportunity to dive deeply into the world of philosophy with you is my greatest privilege. I would like to hear your voices and find out what matters to you. In our class, you’ll have room to form opinions, compare them to others, and practice powerful tools, such as logic and critical thinking, to make them stronger.

Mr. Gardner

Hello, my name is Mr.Gardner and I will be your ELA teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. This is my 3rd year at BART and I am looking forward to meeting you. I studied theatre at MCLA and have started graduate classes in education. I am certified to teach both English and Theatre in the state of Massachusetts and have my Sheltered English Immersion endorsement from the Reading Institute. I enjoy PC building, hiking, and cooking in my spare time. We will be covering some of my favorite books throughout the year including The Outsiders, Animal Farm, and The Hate U Give.

JJ Choquette

This is the start of my 16th year at BART Charter! I have made BART my home because I truly believe in their mission. Being a first generation college student myself I strongly believe that every student has the potential to be successful in college and BART is the vehicle to get them there! My class in particular works to educate students with a range of vital skills they will need to possess in life, and not just school. A few of the topics we will discuss are: Stress management, meditation, conflict resolution, sexual education, refusal skills and Life Skills just to name a few.
