Welcome to first grade!
I am originally from Kentucky. Some of my family still live there. I still visit family often. I have a daughter in Arkansas. She has one son....my only grandchild! I also have a son, but he has no children...only dogs. He lives only minutes away and visits every Sunday. I have lived in Georgia for nearly 32 years and love Georgia! I was home with my own children until they started school. I updated my classes and became certified in Georgia. Then, I got my masters degree. I have only taught 22 years. Most of my teaching career has been in first grade. I love first grade! This is the year of tremendous growth.
I have many interests, but only a few actual hobbies. There seems to be too few hours in the day! I enjoy traveling. My husband and I enjoy hiking and we both prefer visiting national parks. I hope to visit every national park in the United States! I enjoy embroidery and sewing. However, I especially love to read! My goal is to instill a love of reading and love of learning to each of my students.
