Art Courses

5th Grade Art

Students in 5th grade learn about the elements of art and use these important basics to create several works of art. While creating art, they also learn about several artists and art history, clay techniques, non objective art exploration, and use of a wide array of art media.

6th Grade Art

Students in 6th Grade art review the elements of art. They are able to experiment and create works of art using several mediums, such as oil pastel, clay, paper cutting, and collage. Lessons are connected to art history through visuals, reading, and discussion. Some 6th grade art units include Optical Illusions, metal tooling, perspective, color theory and color mixing, graffiti, origami, and more!

7th Grade Art

7th Grade art students expand on what they have learned in 5th and 6th grade art. Students create projects in a variety of materials and art mediums, including paint, collage, clay, drawing, and more! Art history is incorporated into each lesson while students learn about techniques, methods, technology, etc.  Students actively participate in the creative process, which includes brainstorming, planning/sketching, problem solving, analyzing, and evaluating art.  Binders will be used for planning, ideas, and resources.

Art 8: Art 1 (Semester 1)
