This documentary, The Making of #ThePlaceToB - a mini-musical: A Creative Partnership with Artificial Intelligence Tools, includes four segments that tell the story of the writing of a mini-musical by a group of Barrington 220 students and staff members during the spring and summer of 2024. 

In the first segment, Artificial Intelligence in the Arts, student authors discuss some of the issues surrounding the use of AI when writing the musical. In the second segment, Script & Lyrics Assisted by AI, students discuss the collaborative process used to brainstorm the plot, write the script, and draft the first version of the song lyrics. In the third segment, Music Composition Collaboration, student songwriters explain how they worked together to choose the styles, refine the lyrics, and write the songs used in the musical. The final segment, Continued Creativity in the Rehearsal Process, documents the phase when the musical moves from the page to the stage—the cast is selected, the student choreographers create the dance movements, and the actors/singers continue to refine the final production.
