This is the ORIGINAL and longest running Kosher BBQ contest in the WORLD!!! A one day event where pitmasters compete for trophies in 4 BBQ categories and new this year, the People's Choice Award.
We also award prize money and trophies for the team with the best booth and the best name/theme.

A festival day, folks can come out and walk the grounds at no charge, say hi to friends old and new, visit our Lil Pitmasters Playground, buy great Kosher food at the Cowsher Cafe', participate in sporting events and competitive eating and stick around to see who will be the champs....there's something for everyone!!!

The ASBEE Kosher BBQ Contest & Festival is the ORIGINAL and longest running event of its kind. Pitmasters will compete in 5 main food categories as well as in booth and name/theme. Our panel of judges consists of a mix of professional judges from the BBQ circuit...many with multiple designations, food writers and restaurateurs, local celebrities, and various dignitaries.
The event runs from 10am until 4pm when our Grand Champions will be awarded the 1st place trophy and the Championship Belt. Events will be running all day long and admission to the grounds is absolutely FREE!!!!
The day kicks off around 9am when the adult/teen portion of our annual 3 vs. 3 Basketball Competition begins. Click on the LINKS page for the sign up form for this. Great prizes are awarded to the winners of the various age divisions.
The youth portion of the 3 vs. 3 will begin around 1pm. All participants take home some great swag.
The Lil Pitmasters Playground will be open around 11am and will have plenty of activities for the younger BBQ enthusiasts including train rides, a petting zoo, face painting and more!!!
Cowsher Cafe': While you are out on the grounds checking out the sites you are sure to build up an appetite, and that's when you head into the shul and visit the cafe. They will have BBQ Brisket sandwiches, burgers, chips, desserts and much more for purchase....as well as BBQ in bulk. Check out the Cowsher Cafe page.
We will also be having 2 fantastic competitions going on during the day, our world famous pickle eating contest and our 1st ever APPLE PIE EATING CONTEST in honor of America 250.
THE BBQ: Teams will be competing in 4 major divisions; Ribs, Brisket, Beans, and for the 1st time BBQ Salami. In addition the Teams will also be cooking Chicken Drummies which will be tasted and judged by the public. More info on this on the "People's Choice" page. The judges scores on the 4 main categories and the teams presentation (booth, name, theme) will all factor in as we name our grand champion. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies will be awarded in all of the different divisions.
