The Auction

We are excited to be hosting our first ever online Silent Auction Fundraiser for Orienteering Canada's High Performance Program this year! The money raised from this silent auction goes directly to the High Performance Program where it will be used to support our talented athletes in training camps and at international championships where they proudly represent our country. Every year this provides a significant portion of the HPP budget so thank you in advance from our athletes for your support!

Both physical and electronic items will be accepted for this auction. We are looking for donations now and would be most grateful for your donation.

How it Works...

Donating:

We are looking for items big and small. Items can be physical and can also be electronic. If you are interested in donating, scroll down and click on the Button for the link to the "Donate an Item" form. We would appreciate it if all donations were submitted before the Auction goes live on August 6th.

If you want to support this auction but aren't sure what to donate, check out some of the ideas below.

On the donation form you will be asked to provide a photo of your item by uploading it to the form. If you are unable to upload a photo, please email the photos to hpp@orienteering.ca with the subject HPP Auction, and remember to provide your name and item name. Please ensure that your photo gives a clear image of your item. The item should be the only thing in the frame, should be placed on a light coloured background, and show the item clearly. The photos will be used on the website Givergy.

Bidding:

For this Silent Auction, we will be using a website called Givergy for our item bidding and purchasing. By using Givergy, we are restricted to roughly 60 items. Donated items and their photos will be shared on the Givergy website (link below). The website will allow you to see where you stand in the bidding and can even send you updates if you have been outbid!

Upon purchase of any item, the purchaser (and only the purchaser) will be given the donor's email address. When the purchaser contacts the donor about their item, it is the responsibility of both the purchaser and donor to arrange the delivery of that item. For electronic items, the purchaser will simply be able to email the donor to arrange emailing the item. For physical items, things will be slightly different. Our default option is that the donor and the purchaser will arrange to physically deliver the item at the next COCs/other event. Other options include coordinating shipping options with the purchaser. For this option, the purchaser will contact the donor to arrange shipping options and will be required to pay for shipping. The HPC will be sending out reminder emails periodically to ensure that items have been arranged for pick-up/mailing.

We will be starting the auction on Friday August 7th and it will run until Sunday Aug 16th, the evening of the COCs Virtual Banquet. Items are welcome after Aug 6th, but ideally please submit before then.

Please contact hpp@orienteering.ca if you have any questions.
