In March of 2014, the idea to host an Edcamp for the state of Kentucky was born. On March 8, 2014, EdcampKY.org was launched.

Plans were further developed at the 2014 ISTE Conference and a date scheduled for October 25, 2014 at Thomas Nelson High School in Bardstown, KY.

To date, there have been 6 Edcamp Kentucky events attracting educators from Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. Over 600 teachers have attended these free events (along with a few Stormtroopers!).
