Gather up some art supplies (a piece of paper, a pencil and something to add some color - crayons, markers, colored pencils, or paint) and get ready to draw animals using shapes by watching the videos! You can also click on the Color with Leo button in my pretty blue (aka aqua) box below to draw some shape animals online! To find it, click the yellow "Art Studio" oval near the top and choose "Draw Wild Animals" or "Draw Farm Animals."
Jan. 4-8 Elements of Art: Shapes
Watch this video first to learn about shapes and see some examples of animals created using shapes. Then draw an animal using shapes! Use your pencil first and then add color when you are done.

Pitch and Melody
Jan 11: Watch this video to learn about pitch, melody, the musical alphabet and the staff. If you have an instrument at home, practice making high and low sounds. Then see if you can combine different sounds to make your own melody!
Jan 11: This is a scene from a movie with a song that I loved to sing and play on the piano when I was a little girl. It is a great example of pitch and how to use different sounds to create a melody/tune. Enjoy!
