Previous Workshops

The hide tanning workshop was facilitated by Kristi Leora Gansworth and Suzanne Kite, who led students through the  process of scraping and preparing deer hide. This session emphasized embodied learning, collaborative practice, and understanding the cultural and material responsibilities involved with working with nonhuman beings. Students worked directly with the hide, assisting and learning.

Held by artist Mikayla Patton, the workshop will provide an introduction to the basic line stitch quillwork. We’ll be embroidering onto leather with quills to make pins. Basic sewing knowledge is helpful but not essential.

The activity is limited to 20 participants.
