The activity is limited to 20 participants.

Hide Tanning
at the Fire Pit, Massena Campus
We will host a hide tanning workshop facilitated by Kristi Leora Gansworth, who will lead students through the process of scraping and preparing deer hide. This session emphasizes embodied learning, collaborative practice, and understanding the cultural and material responsibilities involved with working with nonhuman beings. Students will work directly with the hide, assisting and learning.
The activity will happen outside and will involve working with fire; thus, we recommend that participants dress warmly and bring a change of clothes.
Hot beverages and warm food will be provided. Participants will have access to a warming station and restrooms for the entire duration of the workshop.
Some parts of the workshop are restricted to pre-registered students and invited guests. The general public will be invited to participate at specific times. For those times, please refer to Public Events in the schedule below.
