Dr. Bregt Saenen is Senior Policy Officer for Open Science at Science Europe. He has previously worked for several membership and policy organisations, including the European University Association, DG EMPL of the European Commission, SOLIDAR, and the EU office of the International Labour Organization. Bregt has a doctorate in EU Studies from Ghent University in Belgium and was a visiting researcher at New York University. He also has a Master of Science in EU Studies from Ghent University, as well as a Master and Bachelor of Arts in History.
Milica Ševkušić is a Project Coordinator for the EIFL Open Access Programme and a librarian at the Institute of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. As a member of the repository development team at the University of Belgrade Computer Centre she has been involved in the development of a network of institutional repositories in Serbia. She is also a founding member of the Open Science Community Serbia. In the capacity of the EIFL-Open Access Programme Country Coordinator she has been supporting Open Access journals in Serbia since 2014. Her professional interests focus on Open Science, library services aimed at supporting research activities, training in academic services and tools, support to Open Access journals, information literacy and research ethics. Dr. David Ernst is Director of the Center for Open Education at the University of Minnesota. He is also Executive Director of the Open Education Network - a community committed to improving higher education through open educational practices, with members representing over 1,800 higher education institutions. David has three degrees in Education, including a PhD in Learning Technologies from the University of Minnesota. David is passionate about the intersection of education and intercultural understanding.
Dr. Frances Pinter is the Executive Chair of the Central European University Press and formerly CEO of Manchester University Press. She advises several small university presses around the world. She was the founding Publisher of Bloomsbury Academic and the founder of Knowledge Unlatched, taking a particular interest in developing sustainable OA business models. Previously she was Publishing Director at the Open Society Institute where she established EIFL, a leading library consortium, while working in the post-communist countries. She is a visiting research fellow at the London School of Economics and SAS, University of London.
Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe is Professor and Coordinator for Research and Teaching Professional Development in the University Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her responsibilities encompass training, coaching, and mentoring library employees to achieve success in their scholarship and educational roles. Lisa is also an affiliate faculty member in the University’s School of Information Sciences, where she teaches library service evaluation and assessment, the European Union Center, and the Center for Global Studies. Lisa is active in IFLA and is currently a member of the Professional Council and Chair of Division B. She is also Chair of the ORCID Board of Directors. Lisa has consulted, presented, and published widely on scholarly communications, publishing, the value of libraries, strategic planning, organizational innovation, emerging technologies, program evaluation, library assessment, inclusion and equity, information literacy, and teaching and learning. Kai Geschuhn holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science and has been working at the Max Planck Digital Library for more than 10 years, where she has established and supported numerous Open Access projects and initiatives, such as the ESAC initiative and OA2020. She is Communications Manager in the DEAL Services team at the MPDL, which implements the German-wide DEAL contracts for the non-profit organization MPDLS Services gGmbH.
Melanie Stummvoll studied German Philology at University of Vienna. She finished her training as a library and information expert at Vienna University Library in 2016 and worked afterwards at the Head Office of the Austrian Academic Library Consortium (KEMÖ), being primary responsible for negotiating transformative agreements with scientific publishers. In 2021 she returned to Vienna University Library, being part of the local consortium management team and the Austrian Transition to Open Access Two (AT2OA2) project.
