What will I be doing?
OVERVIEW & EXPECTATIONS
As a Barcelona SAE Alumni Ambassador, you will be assisting with outreach and engagement efforts on your home campus (and beyond) to share your Barcelona experience with others and to encourage your peers to study or intern with Barcelona SAE. In this leadership role, you will complete 10 hours worth of project work per semester, in which you get to flex your creativity, hone your marketing skills, and reflect on your time in Spain - all skills future employers are looking for! The end goal of each project is to engage with interested students, and if they want more information, get their contact information so we can guide them through the next steps in the study abroad process.
Sounds fun, right? Let's explore what past Barcelona SAE Alumni Ambassadors have done for their missions below!
Fairs & events
What study abroad related events take place on your campus each semester, and how can you get involved as an Ambassador? Staff a table (with permission) at the study abroad fair; host a Barcelona SAE information or Q&A session (in-person or virtual), join your home university's study abroad ambassador organization and cross-promote Barcelona SAE; volunteer as a student panelist for pre-departure orientations or other events for students about to go abroad; etc.
clubs & orgs
What student clubs and organizations are you a part of on campus? How could you spread the word about studying or interning in Barcelona to these groups? Co-host a FC Barcelona watch party with the residence hall council; speak to the Spanish Club on campus about studying in Spain; hold an information session for first-year students in your major about interning in Barcelona this summer; host a study abroad panel at your next chapter meeting for your fraternity or sorority; etc.
CONTENT CREATION
Content creation is often a great way to connect with other students! How can we best reach students on your campus or in your area virtually? Write a post for Barcelona SAE's blog about your experience; Create a series of TikToks or IG Reels about your time in Spain that can be reposted by Barcelona SAE and/or your home university's study abroad office; host an Instagram live or Instagram takeover focused on studying/interning in Barcelona; write a testimonial on GoAbroad encouraging other students to study or intern with Barcelona SAE; etc.

¿Qué más?
But wait, there's more! In addition to the 3-4 missions per semester, you'll be required to:
Fill in your hours sheet whenever you complete a project. It's important that you and the Barcelona SAE team can keep track of the projects that you complete and how much time you spend on them so you can be compensated fairly for your time, energy, and expertise.
Meet virtually with Jalan once a month (15-20 minutes) to check-in, discuss progress on your goals, set new goals each month for projects, ask any questions you have, and tell us how Barcelona SAE can best support you! (Make an appointment with Jalan here)
