I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Akron. I also have a minor in Parent Child Relations, a minor in Child Development and I hold a Reading Certificate. I have been taking Master Classes from Walsh College in Education. Before being hired full time I was a substitute teacher for Barberton City School District for ten years. During that time I completed several long term positions and several tutoring positions. I was hired in 2011 part time and worked for 18 months as a Title One Reading tutor. I was hired full time 2013 and taught first grade till 2015 when moved to kindergarten.
Teaching is so rewarding to me. I get to interact with students at so many different levels. I believe that every child needs must be met before they can learn. If a child is hungry scared or sad they cannot learn. I enjoy getting to know students and their families. I never thought that I would be able to say that I get to go to work every day to a job that is exhausting but so rewarding.
