The Barberton Sparkles is an inclusive cheer squad that welcomes members of all abilities without tryouts. 

With volunteer coaches from the Barberton City School District, we empower our students by giving them the opportunity to share their school spirit and to be celebrated by their community. Our squad has grown each year and is open to students throughout the Barberton school system, with and without disabilities.  All of our members are on equal footing and together we have built a joyful, supportive and talented team across abilities- a wonderful place where everyone belongs. 

The Sparkles also raise awareness of and promote inclusion throughout the Barberton community. By highlighting the talents of our team, we teach people that individuals of all ages with disabilities can do amazing things when opportunities are made available. With every cheer performance, we demonstrate how capable, loving and wonderful our members are, and we educate the community about the rights and need of those with disabilities. We are grateful for the warm welcome and support we receive from our friends, neighbors, schools, civic groups, and businesses here in Barberton. 

Participating is accessible for everyone because our uniforms and equipment are fully funded by our local sponsors. Sparkles can join beginning in third grade depending on available space.
