The English Learner Advisory Committee is a group each school with more than 21 English Learners is required to have. This group meets 4 times a year to discuss topics and provide recommendations to the site principal. The site ELD Coordinator is in charge of coordinating ELAC.
The first ELAC meeting should be held by the first week of October so the committee can vote on officers and designate a delegate to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC).Â
Before holding ELAC elections, schedule an ELAC orientation. These bilingual slides cover the basics of the required information for orientation.
This is the ELAC manual for Banning USD. Edit the resources for your own site needs.
