Mr. Jacobson
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year my name is Matt Jacobson. This will be my fifth year at Bangor and I continue to feel blessed to work in this school district, community, and for the wonderful people I have met along the way. This will be my 12th year as a school counselor and 15th year in education. I have a master's degree in school counseling from Concordia University and two bachelor degrees one in Health Promotion/Wellness from the University of Stevens Point and Human Services from Upper Iowa University. My wife, Dawn and I have two children that we love spending time outdoors with going on adventures.
As always if you have any questions/concerns please feel free to email, call, and or schedule an appointment to meet with me. I am here to help your child be successful in the classroom and in life.
Resources
The We Do Listen Foundation has created a series of books to teach children important life lessons. Their website has animated books, games, songs, and many other free activities for your child. A great website to explore!
Julia Cook's books are a cornerstone of the guidance lessons I use at Bangor Elementary. A former teacher and school counselor, Julia writes books for children that let them laugh while learning to solve their own problems, use better behavior, and develop healthy relationships. I am a huge fan of Julia Cook's books and use them for all grade levels. I highly encourage you to check out her books for yourself.
