Welcome to the 2019-20 school year my name is Matt Jacobson. I am ecstatic to be the school counselor for the elementary school. This will be my eighth year as a school counselor. I have a master's degree in school counseling from Concordia University and two bachelor degrees one in Health Promotion/Wellness and Human Services. My wife, Dawn and I live in Sparta with our son, Carver and a baby girl expected in October.
As always if you have any questions/concerns please feel free to email, call, and or schedule an appointment to meet with me. I am here to help your child be successful in the classroom and in life.
The We Do Listen Foundation has created a series of books to teach children important life lessons. Their website has animated books, games, songs, and many other free activities for your child. A great website to explore!
Julia Cook's books are a cornerstone of the guidance lessons I use at Bangor Elementary. A former teacher and school counselor, Julia writes books for children that let them laugh while learning to solve their own problems, use better behavior, and develop healthy relationships. I am a huge fan of Julia Cook's books and use them for all grade levels. I highly encourage you to check out her books for yourself.
